As a kid, I used to draw my own comics, but I always wanted to do more than just draw. I visited my local career center and found a class called graphic communications (GC), which used computers to “draw.” I immediately fell in love with the class and quickly learned it was more than just drawing on computers — it was designing and printing. During my time in this class, I joined SkillsUSA and went on to compete at GC state and national competitions. When I asked my teacher what would be the best college to attend for graphic communications, she responded with Clemson University. I always dreamed of going here, and now it’s a reality. I chose an internship with CB+D because I wanted to challenge my skills and knowledge of graphic communications. CB+D will, without a doubt, provide me with firsthand experiences with real clients and real-world challenges. Outside of school, I enjoy drawing using pencil and paper or my drawing tablet, playing video games, listening to music, walking and helping others when I am able.

I have three goals while working at Campus Banner + Design:

  1. To master the production skills and techniques I learned throughout my first semester at CB+D.
  2. To continue building friendships, connections and networks that will help me in my future career.
  3. To have fun and learn new things that will challenge me to become a more well-rounded intern in both production and design.
